Hyundai’s Innovator of the Future Winner

The winner of the Hyundai Innovator of the Future has been announced. We had the opportunity to be part of the judging panel for this once in a lifetime experience.

Emily Armitstead of Leeds Art University is the overall winner. For her reimagining of an SUV interior, Emily looked to a time when deteriorating climactic conditions will mean a scarcity of daylight and extreme weather conditions are the norm. Her choice of design and materials sought to use iridescence and reflection to create an “ethereal design concept” – as she puts it. Her use of futuristic technologies includes holograms and voice control. Naming Emily as the winner, we the judges praised her use of recycled materials and the thoughtful execution of this “beautiful design”.
